What Happens When You Reach Out
MWI Health's intensive outpatient programs in Sioux Falls provide structured, clinical treatment without requiring a residential stay. At MWI Health in Sioux Falls, our IOP tracks are designed for adults managing substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, mood disorders, and co-occurring conditions who need more than weekly therapy but want to continue living at home and maintaining their responsibilities.
Our programs meet 3 days per week, with each session lasting approximately 3 hours. Treatment includes evidence-based group therapy, individual counseling, psychiatric support, and skill-building workshops led by licensed clinicians.
IOP is appropriate as a step-down from inpatient, residential, or Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) care, or as a step-up for individuals who are not making adequate progress with standard outpatient therapy alone. Our clinical team conducts a thorough assessment, including screening for substance use, to determine the right level of care before enrollment.
IOP Programs Available at MWI Health
MWI Health offers three specialized IOP tracks. Your clinical assessment determines which program best fits your diagnosis, history, and goals. All three programs follow the same Monday, Wednesday, Thursday morning schedule and are available both in person and virtually throughout South Dakota.
Not sure which program fits your situation? That is exactly what the clinical assessment determines. Our admissions team is happy to explain the difference between programs and help you understand what to expect before you commit to anything.
All assessments are free, confidential, and carry no obligation. Our only goal is to help you find the right level of care.
Substance Use IOP: For alcohol and drug use disorders. Outpatient addiction treatment with relapse prevention, motivational work, and co-occurring support. Requires a current substance use disorder diagnosis.
Dual Diagnosis IOP: For co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Integrated treatment with a single clinical team addressing both conditions simultaneously. Requires a current substance use disorder diagnosis alongside a mental health condition.
Mental Health IOP: For depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, and mood disorders. Evidence-based group and individual therapy with psychiatric support, delivered as integrated care alongside any co-occurring substance use disorder.
Programs run Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. In-person at our Downtown Sioux Falls clinic or virtually throughout South Dakota.
All programs accept most major insurance plans. Our admissions team verifies your specific benefits before your first session.
