Psychotherapy Services in South Dakota, North Dakota & Iowa
Talking with the right person, in a space that feels safe, can change how you carry everything else. Our therapists offer evidence-based psychotherapy for adults and teens, in person at six clinics or by secure telehealth across our region.
Understanding psychotherapy
A space to be heard, and real tools to move forward
Psychotherapy, often called talk therapy, is structured, confidential work with a trained therapist. Together you make sense of what you are feeling and why, and you build practical skills to handle it differently. It is not just venting, it is evidence-based care with a direction.
Our therapists draw on proven approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy, matched to you rather than a script. Because MWI Health brings therapy and psychiatry under one roof, your care can stay therapy-only or coordinate with medication management, whatever fits your situation best.
We offer psychotherapy across South Dakota, North Dakota, and Iowa, so you can meet in person close to home or from your own living room by secure telehealth. No referral is required, and most people are seen without a long wait.

Good to know
Psychotherapy questions, answered
Psychotherapy, or talk therapy, is structured work with a trained therapist to understand and change the thoughts, feelings, and patterns behind what you are struggling with. It is confidential, evidence-based, and tailored to your goals.
Our therapists use evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), matched to what you need. Care can also be coordinated with psychiatry and medication management when that is helpful.
Therapy can help with anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, OCD, grief, stress, relationship strain, life transitions, and more. If you are unsure whether therapy is the right fit, our team can help you figure that out.
No. Many people work with a therapist without any medication. Because we offer both therapy and psychiatry, we can combine them or keep your care therapy-only, based on what is right for you.
No referral is needed. You can request an appointment directly and we will help you get scheduled, often without a long wait.

Yes. We offer secure video therapy for patients located in South Dakota, North Dakota, and Iowa, so you can meet with your therapist from home.
