Mental Health IOP for Depression, Anxiety & Trauma
MWI Health's Mental Health IOP in Downtown Sioux Falls provides structured, evidence-based treatment for adults managing depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, and mood disorders. Our program is designed for individuals who need more than weekly therapy but do not require hospitalization, offering clinical depth without disrupting your daily life.
Sessions meet three days per week for three hours each, combining group therapy, individual counseling, and psychiatric support. Our licensed clinicians use CBT, DBT, EMDR, and trauma-informed approaches to address the full spectrum of mental health conditions.
Our mental health IOP is appropriate as a step-down from inpatient, residential, or Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) care, or as a step-up for those not making adequate progress with standard outpatient therapy. Our clinical team conducts a thorough assessment to determine the right level of care before enrollment.
Is Our Mental Health IOP Right for You?
Our mental health IOP is not entry-level therapy and it is not inpatient hospitalization. It occupies a clinically significant middle ground, offering the structure of residential care while you continue living at home, working, and maintaining your daily responsibilities.
Our clinical team recommends IOP for adults who are experiencing significant impairment from a mental health condition and need more contact with a treatment team than once-weekly therapy can provide. It is also a common step-down from a higher level of care, including inpatient hospitalization, residential treatment, or a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), allowing patients to continue structured treatment as they transition back to daily life.
If you are unsure whether IOP is the right fit, our admissions team will conduct a free, confidential assessment and recommend the level of care most appropriate for your situation.
