Diane Teadtke

PMHNP-BC

My name is Diane Teadtke, and I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Midwest Wellness Institute. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University and hold certifications in Psychiatry.

I specialize in all mental health conditions across the lifespan from children to elderly, working primarily in medication management in the outpatient setting, along with nursing home residents and drug court clients. My approach to care is using evidence based practice as well as holistic care to ensure my clients get the best possible care, and I often encourage importance of self-care and encourage all my clients to seek out additional counseling/therapy to support my clients.

I chose this profession because after losing my dad at a really young age I realized just how much mental health care access is limited, especially being from a small, rural town in Nebraska. I am passionate about mental health and providing access to those in rural areas because I know firsthand how hard finding help can be. Unfortunately, not having the proper access or resources leads those struggling to not seek help especially when they need it most which is what happened to myself and my family. I find it most rewarding when my clients regain their spark and enjoyment for life. I am happy that I can be a small part of them finding themselves again but put emphasis on their role as they did all the hard work, I just listened!

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my children, family, and friends, cheering on the Huskers, reading, kayaking, going for walks or drives, and listening to music and I believe these activities help me stay balanced and energized to support my clients.
